Scooter Hire in Altea
Altea is two places at once: a flat seafront that suits a scooter perfectly, and a hilltop old town that does not.
The blue domed church and the whitewashed streets around it are what most people come to Altea to see. They sit at the top of a steep hill, up narrow, stepped lanes. The seafront below is level and easy. It is worth being clear about that difference before you hire, because nobody wants to find out halfway up.

The seafront: yes. The old town: with care
Along the water, Altea is straightforward: a paved, level promenade with the sea on one side and restaurants on the other. Up in the old town the streets are cobbled, narrow and steep, with steps in places.
If the old town is the reason you are here, plan to arrive by car or taxi as close to the top as you can, and use the scooter on the flat.
Next door to Albir
Altea and Albir are close enough that we serve them on the same round. If you are staying in one and visiting the other, the seafront route between them is the pleasant way to do it.

Questions about hiring in Altea
Can I get up to the church in Altea on a scooter?
The climb is steep and parts of the old town have steps. We would rather tell you honestly than have you turn back halfway.
Is Altea worth a scooter at all, then?
Yes, for the seafront, which is level and long. Many visitors use the scooter along the water and reach the old town another way.
