Torrevieja has one of the largest permanent British and Dutch communities on the Costa Blanca, and that changes what people want from a scooter here.
In a resort town most hires last a week or two. In Torrevieja a good many last months. People here are not passing through: they are in an apartment for the winter, or all year, and they want the machine to work for the long haul.
Built for long hires, not short ones
A scooter used every day for four months is a different proposition from one used for ten days. It needs charging properly, servicing partway through, and swapping out if something goes wrong rather than a promise to look at it next week.
That is what the month rate covers: 225 euro for the Donata, 265 for the Tunder. If you are here for a season, ask for it rather than adding up the weeks.
A flat town, which helps
Torrevieja sits low and flat along its seafront and salt lakes. Of the towns on this coast it is one of the easier ones to get around on wheels, which is part of why the community here is as large as it is.
